The advances in how to administer drugs are as important to the patient as the drugs themselves. During my last treatment my oncologist chatted about how not only chemo but also the drugs and techniques to counter the terrible side effects have improved the past few years. <br /><br />Antiemetics, portacaths, imune system boosters like neupogen, etc - these improvements may be side shows to the major aim of improving the core treatment itself. But they do make a huge difference to the experience and general health of person at the receiving end of the therapy.
